Families are strongly advised to write the student name on the tag of items so staff can return lost property to the rightful owner. Items found without a name are kept for 2 weeks and then donated if unclaimed.

The Department of Education does not provide personal accident insurance for students, and parents and guardians are responsible for the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including transport costs. Student accident insurance policies are available from some commercial insurers.

The Department of Education does not have insurance for personal property of staff, students and visitors, and the college and Department do not take responsibility for personal property lost, stolen or damaged at school or during school activities. Damage to personal property, including motor vehicles, is the owner's responsibility.
