Learning update

Prep students are learning to hear, read and write the /th/ sound in words such as thumb, thin, thick, thud, moth and with. They will also revisit wh and be introduced to the Tricky Words what and where.

Parent information

Prep families can support reading by reading together regularly and looking for wh and th words in books, signs and everyday writing. Parents can also practise reading the Tricky Words what and where and encourage their child to use them in a sentence.

Learning update

In Prep Maths, students have explored sharing, equal groups and early division using hands-on materials. They shared collections between two and three groups, made groups of two and three, and explored when a collection cannot be shared equally, including one left over.
