Whole-school updates

  • Instrumental Music Update: Term 2 wrapped up with a fantastic Mid-Year Soirée and other performances. Instrumental Music Teacher Flora is off to Copenhagen for her Master's Degree; Adrienne will cover some of her students, and a replacement is being sought for Term 3.
  • Ensemble Rehearsals: For Term 3, Training Band and Guitar Ensemble will rehearse on Wednesdays, Symphonic Band on Thursdays, and Concert Band and Novice Guitar Ensemble on Fridays. All rehearsals start bright and early at 7:50 am.
  • Instrumental Music Vacancies: If your child is keen to join the Band Program, there are still a few spots open! Contact Ken MacDonald at kenneth.macdonald@education.vic.gov.au for more details.
  • AMEB Exams: Thinking about an Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) exam for your child? Talk to their instrumental teacher first! Entry fees range from $119 (Grade 1) to $158 (Grade 5). Piano teacher Aiden is available to assist with accompanist duties. The cut-off date for entries is Thursday 23 July, with exams held from Monday 5 October to Sunday 15 November.
  • Term 3 Music & Choir: Choir rehearsals will continue for weeks 1-5 next term with Mr Merlino and Mr Ringin while Lisa Shacklock is on leave. New songs will be uploaded to the Choir Showbie folder and hard copies provided for practice.
  • Whole School Performance: Mark your calendars for a special whole-school performance at assembly on Friday 11 September (Week 9, Term 3) as part of 'BUSKING FOR CHANGE'. More information is coming soon, but save the date!
